Client Code of Conduct & Liability Acknowledgment

1. Client Code of Conduct

As a client of Once Upon A Match, you agree to uphold the highest standards of integrity, respect, and personal responsibility.

1.1 Respectful Conduct

You agree to:

  • Treat all matches with dignity, respect, and courtesy
  • Communicate honestly and appropriately
  • Respect personal boundaries at all times

1.2 Appropriate Behaviour

You must not:

  • Engage in harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour
  • Send explicit, offensive, or sexually inappropriate content
  • Pressure any client into emotional, physical, or sexual interaction

1.3 Honesty and Transparency

You agree that:

  • All information provided is truthful and accurate
  • You will not misrepresent your identity, intentions, or circumstances
  • You will disclose any information that may affect the safety or wellbeing of others

1.4 Safety Responsibility

You acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for your own safety and personal decisions
  • You will exercise reasonable caution when interacting with matches
  • You will report any inappropriate or unsafe behaviour to us promptly

1.5 Use of Service

You agree to use the service solely for:

  • Genuine relationship-seeking purposes
  • Ethical and lawful interactions

2. Assumption of Risk

By participating in matchmaking services, you acknowledge that:

  • You will be introduced to individuals whose backgrounds, behaviours, and intentions are not fully within our control
  • Human relationships involve inherent risks, including emotional, psychological, and physical risks

3. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under South African law:

  • Once Upon A Match does not guarantee the character, conduct, compatibility, or intentions of any client
  • We are not liable for:
    • Misconduct, deception, or actions of any client
    • Emotional distress, disappointment, or relationship outcomes
    • Any damages arising from interactions between clients

4. No Background Guarantee

While we may take reasonable steps to screen clients:

  • We do not warrant or guarantee:
    • Background checks
    • Criminal history clearance
    • Accuracy of client-provided information

Clients engage with one another at their own discretion and risk.

5. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Once Upon A Match, its directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from:

  • Your interactions with other clients
  • Your use of the matchmaking service
  • Any breach of this agreement
